Check it out

It is true that for couples, especially those that spend as much time as my husband and I do, that they start to dress alike. Try as I might to resist his Italian prep, it has become a part of my style. I do not however, ever foresee my husband going from Brunello Cucinello to stepping out in leather pants and a graphic tee. Ah well! Still, you will probably never ever see me in a polo shirt and sneakers. That being said, I do find myself quite comfortable in this outfit today - my hubz J. Crew shirt and Paige crop jeans. I don't think I can pull off the extremely baggy torn jeans that's all the rage right now, so these are the closest to "relaxed fit" that I will sport. I love these jeans so much, I've worn them nearly every other day since I've gotten them.

Hat: Straw panama hat, J. Crew
Shirt: Slim lightweight men's dress shirt, J. Crew
Jeans: Paige kylie crop jeans, Paige denim
Shoes: Gucci flora silk pumps, old
Bag: Straw purse from Provence, France, picked up on our honeymoon

Reformed by the Reformation

For our summer vacation, I wanted to bring something long and flowy but would still accommodate the heat of down south. When I received this dress in the mail, I was confused because I thought I bought a maxi dress and the package was 2 oz at most!  It is so incredibly light and thin on, yet it has such a substantial length and presence. I love it! Who would have thought that this is from Urban Outfitters?

Dress: Reformed by the Reformation, Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Orange and white leather pumps, Emerson Fry
Hat: summer straw hat in navy, J. Crew
Gloves: crochet gloves, vintage

New outfits - preview

It's been a busy August. Busy with what exactly? Baby sleep training, baby's first birthday, baby's first fever/sickness. Is there anything in my life right now that's not about the baby? Why yes, my only diversion, other than drinking vino and bad rom coms is dressing up. I've tons of outfit posts this week. Here is an Instagram preview.

Ebay score, DIY Sunday and a first birthday

I am committing to DIY Sunday again - seeing as my last post and attempt at DIY was last year when I was 7 months pregnant. Anyhow, in the meantime, as I try to transform an IKEA shelf into a breakfast nook bench, let me share with you my latest ebay score - my new silk Chloe shift dress. Hubz and I may not get out much, but at least I've a cute dress for the next dinner night out. Paired here with my St. Medusa Antilles clutch and J. Crew Everly pumps.

Also, my little Eloise turned one this past week, and will be sharing with you her fabulous first birthday tea party. Until then, arriverderci!!

Summer down south - Part II

It's not summer vacation without spending time on the boat, in the sun, and at the lake. And we certainly had plenty. Little baby girl had her first boat ride and beach day on this trip. We never knew we had a water baby on our hands - she loves the water! This means mommy and me swimming lessons very soon!

Summer down south - Part I

Nothing beats lazy days in a small southern town, occupied with nothing but lounging on the beautiful property, drinking vino, going to the lake, and weekend festivals. It has been a much needed respite from our hectic round the clock stressful lives. On this particular day, we rounded up the family to the annual summer festival in town, had hot dogs and slaw on haystacks, watched square dancers (yeah, really), and went back home to wander under the grandiose oak tree that sweeps over the hill on our family property. Another beautiful day down south!

Dress: Guess by Marciano swing dress
Baby's dress: Lourdes (Made in Spain)
